I saw this at Rocks in Your Dryer and thought, eh, why not, at least it's not about Gustav. (Though the schools are out for Tuesday and Wed., due to Gov. Jindal's orders. Hopefully it will be overkill. Though it's still tracking out that we'll at least get tropical storm winds here. But I said this wasn't going to be about Gustav.)
So just for fun, in honor of Labor Day, it's about...well, labor. And not the kind you get a day off for, either.
How long were your labors?
Kid #1, 9 hours.
Kid #2, 14 hours.
Kid #3, 24 hours.With this trend, perhaps it's just as well I haven't had a fourth child.
How did you know you were in labor?
Kid #1, water breaking.
Kid #2, horrid gush of blood, eventual contractions after water broke.
Kid #3, the contractions started and didn't stop that time.I kid not. #3, I had contractions every night for a week. But they'd go away. Finally they didn't quit. Didn't get going all the way either but maybe that's kind of picky on my part.
Where did you deliver?
With all of them, at a hospital.
Drugs?
Yes. Some Nubane with #1 to help me with the horrid kidney pain. None with #2 until the spinal, which I don't advise having a c/section without. And a shot of something or another to help me sleep for a bit during the 24 hour labor with #3.
C-section?
#2. See horrid gush of blood, which turned out to be a gradual placental abruption.
Who delivered?
Doctors. #1 and #2 were with my infertility doc, and #3 was in Louisiana with my brand new doc, who I love because she went along with my VBAC plans.
Play along if you'd like. It's an easy and fun meme. Which I need, because otherwise I'll refresh weather.com again even though I just looked at it.
Praying for safety for those who are far closer to the path than we are.
Wow, your labors increased each time! My babies weights kept going up by a pound 6.7, 7.4, 8.2 and I said nothankyouverymuch I'm not built for 9 & 10 pound babies! Be blessed! ~Whitney
