We're still waiting on the verdict/treatment plan from the doctors for my FIL. One doctor (the pulmonary specialist, I think) is reluctant to recommend surgery due to FIL's age, but there really isn't another treatment. I understand his point... but FIL is pretty healthy, even for his age, and if they do nothing... that doesn't sound good either. I'm listening to K as he talks through this with his father and his siblings, but right now, we're still waiting on the other doctors.

I'm enjoying K's time home, maybe more than usual, because I know he will be leaving abruptly again. He is working hard at his job, knowing that he needs to get ahead a bit, getting things in place for his student employees, and for another lecturer in his class. Catching up was difficult as well, even though it was a slow week last week, there is always something to do, and those things piled up.

We're going on a date tonight though. I'm looking forward to it! It's for a show our church puts on for a youth fundraiser. We have some amazing worship people, and they love getting to do this once a year. I've been hearing rave reviews from other people who went last night.

I worked last night. I had the easiest childcare job ever. I was an adult child care supervisor in one of the babysitting rooms (for the price of the ticket, we provide the babysitting for anyone who needs it, plus dessert at intermission), and with three great teens in the room, and very few kids, it was extremely enjoyable. The youth have to work before the event, preparing for it, and at the event in various capacities, as they earn their share of the fundraiser money to be used on the summer mission trips and other activities. Parents help out in many capacities as well. My kids will be working tonight.

Nina couldn't work last night, because she was at a track meet. She had an incredibly full day, with the morning spent at the regional science fair, and the afternoon/early evening at a track meet out of town! She is very excited, and we are very proud, because she received 2nd place in her category, and a state bid. For the first time ever, she qualified for the state meet in Baton Rouge, and she's delighted! She'll be helping with childcare tonight.

Mac couldn't work either, because he was at the band regional event. He is in symphonic band this semester, and he was delighted to tell me that they received superior scores ("1s") on every song, including the sight reading. Yeah! I haven't a clue what Mac will be helping with tonight - except I am fairly sure he's not doing child care. Probably greeting and a few other things.

Me, I'm just glad that Thursday is out of the way. Shuttling everyone here, there, everywhere? then over 3 hours of child care - even easy care - was exhausting! This weekend is going to be pretty low key for me - as I plan on supervising Mac as he cleans out windows :-). It's spring and time to get those windows open!
